Throwback Thursday: Chuck Brown feat. DJ Kool “Block Party” (2007)

This song right here is one of the my-time favorite tracks of 2007. Chuck Brown aka Godfather Of Go-Go and DJ Kool held it down for the Block Party. I heard this when I was 17 in 2007. R.I.P. Chuck Brown. This record sounds like George Benson “Broadway”

Throwback Thursday: Beastie Boys “Sabotage” (1994)

This song right here is one of my all-time Beasties favorite song and video, it’s a classic. The video was directed by Spike Jonze. They put some action stuff in there. It’s also from their 1994 album Ill Communication. I got this on my iPod.

Rest In Peace Adam “MCA” Yauch.

Throwback Thursday: Lil Kim feat. Angie Martinez, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, Da Brat and Missy Elliott “Not Tonight (Remix)” (1996)

The original version of the song was produced by Jermaine Dupri and it was featured on her 1996 solo debut album Hard Core.

The remix version of the song was featured on 1997 Nothing To Lose soundtrack. That track was produced by Rashad “Ringo” Smith who made hits for Bad Boy and LL Cool J. Lil Kim, Left Eye, Missy Elliott, Angie Martinez, and Da Brat has the best verse in that thing though. I like that they put Kool & The Gang “Ladies Night” sample on it. I was 6 when it came out. Classic song though.

Throwback Thursday: Guru feat. Donnell Jones “Hustlin’ Daze” (2000)

This song is my all-time favorite hip-hop classic and DJ Premier beats. Preemo done it again. I remember hearing this back in ’02. R.I.P. Guru

Throwback Thursday: J-Live “Braggin’ Writes” (1995)

This song was featured on 1996 hip-hop compilation album Haze Presents: New York Reality Check 101 and Tony Hawk Underground video game. This track became a underground hip-hop classic.

The revised version of this song is from his 2001 album The Best Part.

Throwback Thursday: Miilkbone “Keep It Real” (1995)

Big L and Jay-Z killed this beat. Freddie Gibbs went hard on this too.

Yo I got slugs for snitches, no love for b******/Puttin’ thugs in ditches when my trigger finger itches.

Throwback Thursday: L Da Headtoucha “Too Complex” (1997)

This is one of my favorite underground hip-hop tracks ever. The song is titled “Too Complex” by Boston rapper L Da Headtoucha. This song appeared on DJ Premier’s compilation album Haze Presents: New York City Reality Check 101 which was came out in 1997 on now defunct hip-hop record label Payday Records. Ten years of this track. Vinyl Reanimators produced it though.

Throwback Thursday Part Two: Nate Dogg feat. Snoop Dogg “Never Leave Me Alone” (1996)

R.I.P. Nate Dogg. I remember watching this on BET when I was younger. Kurupt produced this song.

Throwback Thursday: Sly & The Family Stone “Dance To the Music” (1968)

Good song that you can dance to when it comes on the radio and the school dances too. Shrek bought me here for this. Queen Latifah samples this in her song called “Dance For Me”

Throwback Thursday: EPMD “Crossover” (1992)

EPMD takes shots at rappers for going mainstream in this song. I love this song.

I dedicate this song to every rappers for going pop, selling out and stuff.

I stick to underground, keep the crossover. I’m strictly hip-hop I stick to Kid Capri.

I still listening to old school stuff.
