After a long rocky road, Lamar Odom has decided to give the Dallas Mavericks the deuces.
According to ESPN, an agreement was made allowing the two sides to part immediately. The basketball star has had a difficult time adjusting ever since his trade off from the LA Lakers.
Odom released a statment explaining that he will “step away from the team.”
“I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship,” he concluded.
This season has been filled with record career lows for Odom performance wise so maybe this is the best decision. He will be listed as “inactive” for the remainder of the season which could essentially be a plus for him because he could be traded after the season.
With Khloe Kardashian by his side, we hope he finds his way soon.

Reblogged from At Home with Mrs. Hampton:
My beloved Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Louisville Cardinals last night to earn a spot in the National Championship game.
This is today’s Courier-Journal Sports page. I like it.
Advancing this far is huge deal, seeing as UK hasn’t made it to the championship since 1998. I was in eighth grade then and it seems like a lifetime ago.
So, only one game remains in this remarkable season.

EAST LANSING — So much for Michigan State handing over in-state basketball supremacy to its rival.
And so much for Draymond Green’s injured left knee keeping him from owning the court in his final matchup with Michigan.
The Spartans’ senior star scored 14 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, as Michigan State and its fans took out their recent frustrations with the Wolverines, 64-54, Sunday at Breslin Center.
Michigan State led by as many as 16 early in the second half (42-26) and 17 late (57-40), looking more like the program that dominated Michigan for more than a decade than the one that dropped three straight to Wolverines over the last 13 months.
The win kept the Spartans (18-5, 7-3 Big Ten) within a game of Ohio State in the Big Ten standings, while Michigan (17-7, 7-4) fell a 1 1/2 back.
Green — who missed the would-be game-winner last month in Ann Arbor — matched the Wolverines on the glass all by himself, with Michigan State dominating the boards, 40-16.
Michigan shot 40 percent, hitting 7 of 22 3-point attempts.
Zach Novak led Michigan with 14 points, with Tim Hardaway Jr.’s struggles better typifying the Wolverines’ day. Hardaway, mostly guarded by Brandon Wood, finished with a season-low four points and made just 1 of 10 field-goal attempts.
Appling (11 points) and Branden Dawson (10) joined Green in double figures for the Spartans. Wood added nine.
Michigan State built its lead early with defense, helping Michigan into 17 fruitless possessions in its first 22 trips down the floor, allowing the Spartans to jump ahead by as much as 25-11 at about the five-minute mark of first half.
Eight different Spartans scored in the first 20 minutes, led by Branden Dawson’s seven points, with Michigan State shooting 59 percent.
The Spartans shot 52 percent for the game.

Reblogged from Blonde Bostonian:
Congratulations to the New England Patriots who defeated the Baltimore Ravens last night! We’re going to the Superbowl!
Last night, Bernie, his roommate, and I watched the game with baited breath. I think everyone in New England was worried. Brady didn’t play his best game, and both our defense and offense were missing completely. Brady had one of the most important plays of the game: his very graceful swan dive for a touchdown.

Talk about a super sequel.
Four years after New York stunned previously undefeated New England in the Arizona desert, the Patriots and Giants are going at it again at the Super Bowl this time in Indianapolis.
Brady and Belichick. Eli and Coughlin. Both teams rolling through the playoffs.
Yep, here we go again.
New England opens as a 3-point favorite for the Feb. 5 game.
It’s familiar territory for Tom Brady and the Patriots (15-3), who are playing in the Super Bowl for the fifth time in 11 years. New England is in the big game for the seventh time overall, second only to the eight trips by Pittsburgh and Dallas.
But it’s the Patriots’ first appearance since Eli Manning and the Giants (12-7) upset New England’s pursuit of perfection in 2008.
NFC Championship – Giants 20, 49ers 17, OT
Lawrence Tynes booted the Giants into the Super Bowl again.
Tynes kicked a winning 31-yard field goal in sudden-death overtime and New York beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in the NFC championship game Sunday night to reach its second Super Bowl in five seasons.
Eli Manning and the Giants (12-7) will face the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Feb. 5 in Indianapolis, just as they did when they won it in 2008.
Tynes also kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime at Green Bay in the 2008 NFC title game that put the Giants in the Super Bowl.
Devon Thomas put the Giants in position. He recovered his second fumble of the game after Jacquian Williams stripped the ball from fill-in return man Kyle Williams.

AFC Championship – Patriots 23, Ravens 20
Tom Brady waited out the final tense minutes on the sideline and somehow his fourth-quarter leap into the end zone held up, sending the New England Patriots back to the Super Bowl.
With New England leading by 3 points with 11 seconds left, Billy Cundiff missed a 32-yard field goal attempt and the Patriots escaped with a 23-20 win Sunday in the AFC championship game.
On his 1-yard scoring dive with 11:29 left, Brady took a huge hit from Ravens star linebacker Ray Lewis, then emphatically spiked the ball as he walked away. Earlier, Brady showed his fire by barking at Lewis following a hard tackle on a 4-yard run.
Next up as the Patriots chase their fourth Super Bowl trophy in Brady and coach Bill Belichick’s tenure in New England is the winner of Sunday’s NFC championship game between the Giants and 49ers. The Super Bowl is Feb. 5 in Indianapolis.
In their last trip to the big game, the Patriots had an 18-0 record when they were stunned by the Giants four years ago. They won the NFL championship for the 2001, 2003 and 2004 seasons. This time, they had to the Sup Bowl with a 10-game winning streak.
Brady’s fifth trip to the Super Bowl will equal John Elway’s achievement with Denver.
“We’re going to try to go out and kick some butt in a couple of weeks,” Brady said.

In their last trip to the big game, the Patriots had an 18-0 record when they were stunned by the Giants four years ago.
Before Cundiff missed, the Ravens had a chance to go ahead two plays earlier, but wide receiver Lee Evans was stripped of the ball in the end zone by backup cornerback Sterling Moore, who earlier was victimized for a touchdown that gave Baltimore the lead 17-16.
Then Cundiff misfired, and the Patriots stormed off their sideline in celebration as the chilled crowd roared.
A three-time NFL champion, Brady didn’t throw for a touchdown for the first time in 36 games, although he did pass for 239 yards. He needed help not only from Cundiff’s botched kick in guiding the Patriots (15-3) to their fifth AFC title in 11 seasons, but from New England’s maligned defense.
The Patriots shut down Ray Rice, the league’s total yardage leader, who was limited to 78 yards. Brandon Spikes made a fourth-quarter interception of Joe Flacco, who played well before that and threw for two touchdowns. And when the Ravens (13-5) were threatening to score a late touchdown to win their first conference title in 11 years, New England clamped down.

Longtime Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has died.
The 85-year-old coach passed away on Sunday (January 22) after fighting lung cancer.
“He died as he lived,” Joe‘s family said in a statement to the Associated Press. “He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community.”
Joe had been hospitalized since January 13 for observation; he was previously admitted for a week-long stay as he recovered from a broken pelvis.
