What’s the best thing about summer?

Most people would answer differently than me. Don’t get me wrong, I like sunshine and warmth; I love being able to drive with my windows down; I LOVE getting my hopes up about camping and then not going because I have no one to go with; I love BBQs and being able to wear neon without attracting strange looks; I love bargaining with my father – if he picks up the dog poo and mows the lawn, I’ll buy him some ice-cream.

Jay-Z Unveils Book Cover For Rerelease Version Of “Decoded”

Jay-Z is set to rerelease his New York Times bestseller Decoded on November 1st (via RR).

The memoir, which deconstructs lyrics from his tracks, will be reissued in a new expanded paperback that includes a new chapter, seven additional illustrations and three new decoded tracks (“I Know,” “Young Gz,” “Lost Ones” ).

Hov also lent his pen to a new Afterword to be included in the book. “What still excites me about rap is that it’s an open thread, a cipher that listeners find their own meanings in,” he writes. “The point of this book is not to settle arguments or transform rap songs into neat stories with a beginning, middle, and end. Rather, I’m trying to point readers to some ideas and information, get them to see deeper into the music than they saw before and learn more about worlds different from their own (or find new ways of looking at the worlds they already know)—to find their own meanings and connect them back to their own lives. I want readers to see the craft and learn the context—and I want them to still be able to feel the magic, and enjoy the show.”

The 5 Most Important Books That I’ve Read

Topic #199

List the 5 most important books you’ve ever read. Don’t think too much, just get a pen, or open a new post and start listing books. When you’re done, go book and write a sentence or two about why each book ended up your list. Do you think those books would have been more or less important had you read them at a different time in your life? Or would each one have effected you just as much of regardless of when you read them?

1. Harry Potter books
2. Jay-Z Decoded
3. How to Rap: The Arts & Science Of The Hip Hop MC
4. The Anthology Of Rap
5. 50 Cent From Pieces To Weight

Each book would be on my best books list because it’s inspiring for me to rad books.

I have lots of time to read books at home or library and at school.

J.K. Rowling Releasing Harry Potter E-Books on Pottermore Site – UsMagazine.com

It’s a magical day for Harry Potter fans: the beloved wizarding series will finally be released as e-books in October.

Author J.K. Rowling, 45, made the announcement during a Thursday news conference in London. The seven novels, previously available only in print and audio formats, will be made available through Pottermore, a brand new site based on the best-selling series.

“I wanted to pull it back to the reading, to the literary and story experience. I’ve had a lot to do with virtually every aspect of it,” Rowling explained. “I wanted to give something back to the fans that have followed Harry so devotedly over the years, and to bring the stories to a new digital generation.”

Pottermore will be open to all users in October, but 1 million fans will be chosen to “help shape” the experience of the site on July 31 (Potter and Rowling’s birthday). Around 18,000 words of new material, ranging from background info on characters’ lives to the history of Hogwarts school, will appear on the site.

Rowling also announced that she has no plans to revisit the series in an eighth book. “I do have closure with Harry,” she said. “I have no plans to write another novel. I’m pretty sure I’m done on the novel front, but it was fun while it lasted.”

That doesn’t mean she’s finished with Potter entirely, though. “Will there ever be an encyclopedia? Possibly,” she said. “If ever I do do a printed encyclopedia, I would like for all the proceeds to go to charity.”

Book Review: The Anthology Of Rap

This is my first book review. This book is called “The Anthology Of Rap”. The book was edited by Adam Bradley & Andrew Bradley, foreword by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and afterwords by Chuck D & Common. It was released on November 9, 2010. The type of the book was paperback. It has 865 pages. The book featured some rap lyrics to hip hop songs from the 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and today. The ISBN number is 978-0-300-14190-0. It was published by Yale University Press and it costs $35.00.

This book was about telling the essence of hip-hop. It got book of rap lyrics like book of poems. I read the whole thing. Best book of ’10. I could use it to memorize the lyrics of the song and never to forget the words. I know that there’s some mistakes in the book but I can’t get the information about it. I gotta say that it’s greak book to read. I love hip-hop music. Every hip-hop fan should have buy the book.  I love it. This book was awesome.

To all the rap fans who love hip-hop you gotta buy The Anthology Of Rap on Amazon and book stores like Barnes & Nobles, Borders and stores like Wal-Mart and Target.
