I got some more stuff coming up on my blog is that I will be posting “30 Breakbeats In 30 Days” on the Fourth of July, photos, songs, music, videos, great ideas, how-to stuff, news, day challenges and stuff.

From now I will be blogging on my mobile phone until the Wi-Fi starts working again so I can blog on my computer. Also I’ll be writing more ideas for the blog posts too. I can’t forget about the blog stats too.

Man I’m back on the block like Qunicy Jones! Back on my BS.

I will keep you guys updated to see how the Wi-Fi is working. I’m back again!!!

Reblogged from WordPress.com News:

This is a guest post by Kristina Chang, Evan Moore, Tony Xu, and Omer Rabin; students at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

“What makes a blog popular? What drives page views?” These are the questions that we’ve been trying to answer over the last few weeks. We were on a mission to dig into the data and analyze the strongest parameters that influence the flow of visitors to WordPress.com blogs.

What Blogging Has Taught Me

Reblogged from Outside Air:

I was kind of cynical about starting a blog back in the day but I’m glad I did–here’s why:

  • Blogging makes me see my life differently. Ever since I started blogging, I’ve seen my life as a story that I’m telling other people. Because I want to tell a good story I’m always on the lookout for the funny, the silly, the beautiful, the meaningful–the moments that help me connect with others and share my story in a way that interest them.

The process of publishing new posts just got simplified big time. Starting today, any time you’re logged in to WordPress.com, you can create and publish new posts without leaving the page you’re on. So instead of having to visit your blog’s dashboard each time you want to publish a post, now you can start a new post the very second you’re inspired to create one.

As we mentioned last week, you can like and reblog posts directly from your reader, which displays a stream of all the updates published on all the blogs you follow from your WordPress.com account.

We’ve also brought the reblog button back to the toolbar that appears at the top of the screen when you’re logged into WordPress.com. Note that you’ll only see the like and reblog options while you’re looking at individual posts.

12.7.10 (2011 Edition)

There are lots of best and worst days of every persons life. December 7, 2012 is the best and worst day that I ever had. I can never forget that day. That’s one year ago. I hardly remember. To commemorate the first anniversary of the day I had to bring y’all the best and worst parts of that day that I ever had on December 7, 2010.

The best part of the day was joining WordPress for blogging. I did that while I was bored at home being stressed out after work during school. I came up with the name for my blog is “thehiltonburnellfiles”. I didn’t know how to WordPress but I learned from it. I didn’t have posts just blank. That was the best day I ever had.

The worst part of that day was losing a female friend of mine. She was 20. I didn’t anything to cry about. I was sad that she passed. It was devastating. Also the worst part of that day was working at my job for the open house during the school. I got yelled at for taking things way too long to get the whole room vacuumed. I was that 21 years old dude who got yelled at, frustrated and stressed out at my job. I didn’t go to my classes on 3rd, 4th and 5th hour. I stayed there working until 3pm. It was the worst day of my damn life. I can never forget that I was working at the whole time.

One year later it’s different. Rest In Peace to my best female friend Taylor Poling.

Oh By The way it’s the one year anniversary of my blog “thehiltonburnellfiles”. I wanna thank everybody for following my blog, my blogging buddies, comments, likes, people around the world, my online friends and the guys from WordPress.

I got more posts to come. PEACE!!!

Make up a word and its definition

Topic #230:

Make up a word and its definition.

We’ll pick the best invented words and highlight them in a future post.

Background: The English language, like all languages, is always changing. Words are always moving in how they are used, and older words decline in use, while new words enter common usage. Any lexicographer will tell you dictionaries are meant to record usage, rather than to define it permanently, which is why they release new dictionaries every year.

Shakespeare for example, made up many new words and changed the usage of many old words and sayings. And often words enter English from other languages. The German word schadenfreude, which means to take pleasure in other people’s misfortune, entered the language because there was no single word with that meaning.

How to come up with a new word:

  • Think about a situation or a problem that’s common, that doesn’t have a single word for it, and then make one up.
  • Combine two words together, like making smog from smoke + fog.  This is called a portmanteau. For example, when your coffee is too hot to to drink, could be called a cofferno  (coffee + inferno).
  • If you know more than one language, think of a word you like from another language that’s hard to explain in English.

My word is afrorderline. The word means Afro and Borderline equals AFRORDERLINE. I made up a new word.
